YOUR APPOINTMENT

At Kimberley Anne Bridal Boutique, brides are seen on an appointment basis so each bride has full benefits from the exclusive use of the beautiful boutique.

Each appointment is an hour and a half so there is enough time for me to understand your vision, browse the dresses and help bring your dreams to life whilst we play dress up.

If this is your first appointment in a bridal boutique, I know it can be quite scary and daunting as well as exciting.  To put you at ease I have answered some common questions below to help you best prepare yourself.

The most important thing is to enjoy every moment and trust that I will do everything I can to ensure your dress journey is one that you will remember forever.

WHEN SHOULD I START SHOPPING FOR MY DRESS?

Around 10-12 months before your wedding is a good time to start looking for your dress.  I would advise that you should aim to order your dress at least 6-8 months before your wedding to allow time for your dress to be made, delivered and fitted.  If you are on a short timescale, some of my designers offer a rush order, however there is usually a small charge for this.  During certain times of the year I will also have sample dresses on sale which can be bought and taken away straight away.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?

When you first arrive there will be a short questionnaire to complete and we can discuss your vision and dreams of your big day. I will then show you the collection stocked within the boutique and once we’ve indentified the dresses that catch your eye, you can make a selection of dresses to try and this is when the dress-up fun begins.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I BRING WITH ME?

The boutique has space for 3-4 guests. I would advise you bring those people whose opinion you value and trust.  It is tempting to want to bring many friends and family members however it can become difficult to hear your own voice and to make decisions when you’re focused on pleasing too many opinions.

I do not have a waiting area due to the intimacy of each appointment so if you do arrive early, please feel free to browse the other shops in the Courtyard or enjoy a cup of tea at Mansells café opposite.  Please refrain from bringing younger children with you to your appointment due to the delicate nature of the dresses and items around the boutique.

The appointments are generally an hour and a half. This is usually enough time to try on enough dresses and if you feel you not ready to decide during this time  it is probably a good idea to give yourself some time to reflect.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING WITH ME?

I would advise on wearing nude or white underwear and a strapless bra can be useful if you want to try on strapless dresses. There are shoes for you to try on with the dresses however if you have your favourite pair (or already have bought your wedding shoes) then please feel free to bring them with you.

The only thing I do ask is if you could please refrain from wearing heavy make up and fake tan.  It can stain the dresses and therefore a dry cleaning cost may be incurred.

WHAT SIZES ARE YOUR SAMPLES?

My dress samples are sized between 10-16, but the majority of them are a size 12-14.  Don’t worry if that’s not your size, there’s lots of ways to give you a good idea of how they will look when they are in your size and fit properly.

CAN MY BRIDESMAIDS COME WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT TRY ON BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES?

At Kimberley Anne Bridal Boutique I offer a range of bridesmaids dress from London based designers Maid to Measure.  You would need to book a separate appointment for your bridesmaids to try these dresses so that I can allow enough time for them to truly experience the beauty of the dresses and if you have a few bridesmaids, in my experience, finding the right dress styles can take some time.

Each bridesmaid appointment will vary with time depending on how many bridesmaids you have attending, which we can discuss when you make an appointment.  At every bridesmaid ‘party’ there will be lots of sweet treats available!

WHAT IS THE PRICE RANGE OF YOUR COLLECTIONS?

The dresses range from £1200 to £3500.

CAN YOU LOAN SAMPLE DRESSES FROM YOUR DESIGNERS?

If you have seen a dress on one of the designers websites that you would like to try that I do not have it in the boutique, it is possible to loan dresses in for you.  I will contact the designer on your behalf to find out the availability of the sample dress and arrange a convenient appointment with you to try it on.  For some of the designers this is free of charge and for others there may be a small delivery charge (which will be refundable if you decide to purchase the dress).

HOW DO I PLACE MY ORDER?

To place your order there is a non-refundable 50% deposit required.  The remaining balance is then due when your dress arrives into the boutique.

When your dress is delivered into the boutique I can hold it for up to 4 weeks, if you wish for me to hold the dress for longer that is no problem at all however there will be a small holding charge per week.

I HAVE PLACED MY ORDER, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

I provide a ‘What Happens Next‘ information leaflet with your invoice.  Here is a copy of what happens next:

Your dress will arrive into the boutique as per the estimated delivery date on your invoice. I will contact you to arrange a collection date & for you to try your dress & discuss alterations if necessary. Please note that I can only hold your dress in the boutique for a maximum of up to 4 weeks. (Please see the Terms & Conditions of Sale).

If you need alterations, I use a professional and qualified seamstress that attends appointments in the boutique on Tuesday evenings. These generally start a couple of months prior to your wedding date. Your alterations are a separate charge and will be payable direct to your seamstress.

Once the alterations are completed you can collect your dress from the boutique around a week in advance of your wedding date.  Just ensure you have a safe place you can hang the dress up high in the protective bag provided. Prior to your wedding, store the dress away from heat, light and damp.

HOW DOES THE FITTING PROCESS WORK?

The fitting process begins around 8 weeks prior to your wedding date. This will give you the chance to discuss your requirements and allow your seamstress to give you an idea of timescale to complete your alterations.

I have a fantastic qualified and professional independent seamstress that provides brides for alterations either in the boutique on a Tuesday evening or in her own studio.  All alterations are not included in the price of the dresses.  My seamstress will personally recommend the necessary work needed and will advise of the cost individually.

Once the alterations are completed you can collect your dress from the boutique around a week in advance of your wedding date.  It will be steamed for you and packed in a specially designer wedding bag. Just ensure you have a safe place you can hang the dress up high in the protective bag provided.

WHEN DO I COLLECT MY DRESS?

After you have placed your order, your dress will arrive into the boutique as per the estimated delivery date on your invoice. I will contact you to arrange a collection date & for you to try your dress & discuss alterations if necessary.  Due to being a small boutique I have limited storage so therefore I can only hold your dress in the boutique for a maximum of up to 4 weeks.

I will then book you in for your fittings with my independent seamstress (8 weeks prior) to your wedding date.  From here on the seamstress will hold the dress for you.  Once the alterations are completed you can collect your dress from the boutique around a week in advance of your wedding date and it will be packed and steamed for you.  Just ensure you have a safe place you can hang the dress up high in the protective bag provided.

Prior to your wedding, store the dress away from heat, light and damp.
